What Is This Treatment?
Teeth in a Day is exactly what it sounds like - the opportunity to get new, permanent teeth in just one day. That is right, permanent! Unlike with bridges or dentures, this procedure uses dental implants. Implants fuse directly with your jawbone so that your new teeth will never shift around or require you to avoid certain foods. Once the implant is in place, a crown is placed over it. Crowns are custom designed to match the rest of your teeth seamlessly. No one will ever even be able to tell you do not have all of your natural teeth!
How the Implant Process Works
When you come into our offices we will first do a thorough diagnostic scan. Using these high-resolution 3D images, we will prepare a surgical plan that takes into account your unique oral health history. Sometimes a bone graft is necessary to better support the teeth. On your scheduled day, all the selected teeth will be removed, and the implants put in place. While your gums heal, and your personalized crowns are manufactured, we will provide you with a temporary set of teeth for your new implants.
After the Implant
While the removal and implantation can happen in a single day, it will take longer for you to heal and for your final set of teeth to be created. During this time, you will also need to be on a special diet to avoid aggravating your new implants. During the healing process, we will keep a close eye on you and monitor your development to ensure that everything is progressing properly. After a few months, once you have fully healed, we will bring you back in and fit your permanent crowns.
Am I a Good Candidate for Implants?
Every patient is unique, so without an in-person consultation, we cannot say for sure. But there are a few general guidelines to keep in mind when evaluating if the Teeth in a Day treatment is right for you. Patients who need immediate cosmetic restoration, have sufficient bone density, are dissatisfied with their dentures or bridge, have healthy oral tissues, don’t grind their teeth, and want a permanent solution that will last the rest of their lives, are all ideal candidates for implants.
